Incredible ruins of a castle first built in the 12th century. The
interesting trivia is that Robert Dudley took possession of it in the mid
16th century and then had a wing built including fancy "modern" windows so
that Queen Elizabeth would come to visit and want to stay and marry him. He
was her companion and closest thing to a husband for most of her reign.
Sigh. I love England.
