This was a fun and simple art project that we did last week with our little homeschool co-op! The hardest part is getting the Scratch Art Paper- I ordered mine from DickBlick Art here: http://www.dickblick.com/products/scratch-art-paper-for-students/
Looks like Amazon even carries it.
Once I had the paper, I gathered some photos of animals that were large and detailed enough to see the fur or feathers. (I cut up an old children's book this time- calendars work well too.)
Each child was given instructions to draw the outline of their creature first then start filling in the details. We used toothpicks as our only scratching tool.
Didn't they do amazing work??
Give them some new materials and methods to experiment with and your children will amaze you!
