Five of Our Favorite Christmas Books

In our home, we love to do a Book Advent.  I wrap 25 Christmas books and the kids take turns choosing one each day.

Some of the books we've opened so far.

Here are some of our favorites:

1. The Nativity

I just adore the art in this one... it is a gorgeous and original view of Christ's coming.

2. I Saw Three Ships

This sweet, small chapter book is by one of my all-time favorite authors, Elizabeth Goudge.  

3. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is my son's favorite Christmas book- it is laugh-out-loud funny with a wonderful message of acceptance towards those that are different from us.

4. The Polar Express

Of course the classic Polar Express we have to read before watching the movie each year.

5. The Jesse Tree

We use this book as one of the daily readings at dinner during advent.  

And for fun, one movie.  The Very First Noel is everything that Christmas media should be.  Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Amazon has it new anymore.  But this online store appears to still carry it.
